Berlyn's party

We have decided that our kids can have a birthday party when they turn 5, 8 and 10 or 12 whatever we decide later. But last year we surprised Berlyn for her birthday and took the family to Disneyland so I promised her she could have one this year. So yesterday was the big day. Her birthday isn't until the 23rd, but next weekend is the big Air Show on base and the base will be crazy, plus Alex has to work and I needed his help. Berlyn wanted to play games and then we had a ice cream bar. We played musical chairs, hot potato, Who Am I game, where you have a name taped to your back and you ask questions to try and figure out who you are, and a Hula Hoop contest. Plus we had a pinata that was shaped like an ice cream cone. It was crazy, but she had lots of fun! We had vanilla ice cream in a sugar cone bowl and then they could choose from chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, strawberries, sweet tart bites, m&m's, sprinkles, gummy bears and bananas. They were loaded up on sugar, but had fun making their own sundaes. Hot Potato!!

Lined up to do the Pinata.

Basketball Season

Alex and I decided to be good parents this year and let our kids do a sport. The base was offering Basketball and both Berlyn and Wes said they wanted to do it. What a crazy two and a half months this has been. Wes had practice on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 and Berlyn had practice the same night from 6:30 to 7:30. Wes had practice on Thursday nights at the same time and Berlyn had practice on Friday's at the same time. Plus Alex was in School on Wednesday nights. Games were Saturday mornings for Wes at 9:00 and Berlyn at 10:00. It has been lots of nights full of busy schedules but they had so much fun playing. They both learned a lot and you could see a big imporvement in their skills during the season. Yesterday was the last game and they both received a medal for their hard work. We will now be taking a break from sports until swimming lessons this summer. I think we have earned the break!!!

Wesley's 7th Birthday

Wesley turned 7 on February 21st. It is hard to believe that he is this old and only one more year until he is baptized. It is crazy to think that he was born when we were living in Florida because so much has happened since we were there. Wes is a great boy who is kind and full of love, he had a great birthday and we are glad he is apart of our family.
Getting ready to open presents (it was Sunday and our kids think they need to wear their pj's as soon as we get home from church.)

He got Mario Kart for the WII that grandma and grandpa gave us for Christmas. (we are all now addicted to the game)
We love the Mr. Men and Little Miss books, and I found these characters at Target and thought they would be perfect for his cake.
Happy Birthday Wesley!!
